Environmentally friendly practices have always been a priority of Allshred Services'. We are constantly examining our policies and procedures to see if there is a more efficient, more environmentally conscientious way for us to do business. Outlined below are some of the Green Practices we follow at Allshred.
Recycling
- All shredded paper material is sent to a U.S. paper mill and recycled into usable paper products. This includes all paper picked up from our customers as well as paper material generated in our offices. On average, we recycle over 1,000,000 pounds of paper per month.
- Allshred recycles computers, monitors, electronic equipment, and various other waste products.
- To supplement your shredding program, Allshred offers recycling programs for cans and bottles.
Allshred Services “green” fleet is growing. Pictured to the right is our newest box and semi trucks.
All of our new Freightliner trucks meets and exceeds the EPA Smartway voluntary specifications that dramatically improves fuel economy and reduces emissions. The aerodynamic shape along with features like the ultra efficient engine, can reduce fuel consumption by 10-20 percent, according to the EPA.

Vehicles
 Allshred’s trucks are equipped with new engines that cut harmful
pollutants by 95% - Allshred’s truck utilize a new ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and have diesel particulate filters that reduce tailpipe emissions of particulate matter by 90%.
- Allshred’s trucks have electronic engine governors to reduce driver speeds and curb excessive fuel usage.
- Allshred’s trucks have fully automated transmissions that shift intelligently for optimal use.
- Allshred’s truck maintenance provider recycles many of the materials used to maintain and repair our vehicles.
- Allshred’s truck vendor participates in the EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership.
Operations
- Allshred’s uniform provider uses environmentally friendly laundry detergent.
- Allshred uses environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout our facility.
- Allshred has developed office policies that are geared toward reducing paper usage. All copies must be printed two-sided. All faxes are sent directly to email, eliminating that need to print unnecessary faxes.
- Allshred has instituted an office-wide recycling program which includes all paper material and plastic and glass bottles and aluminum cans.
